Since its beginning as a grassroots small business, New Market Waste has grown to serve over 5M clients services across the United States by providing services that you can count on both now and for years to come. Our team is founded on transparency, pairing each client with an ideal waste solution that minimizes cost and maximizes satisfaction. 

2001

Rob Ryan gets back into the waste and recycling industry by buying a compactor from PTR Baler & Compactor, then renting it to a major retail store. New Market Equipment Company is officially launched as an equipment rental company.

A former client, Bojangles, wanted the customer service they had when working with Rob’s previous company. They then hire Rob to manage their waste and recycling needs, becoming the first full-service customer under the New Market Equipment umbrella.

2003

NMEC moves to a 2,500 square foot office in South End, Charlotte NC. A gardening center hires New Market, extending the company’s reach across the United States to California. This same year, 1,200 sites around the country are signed on between two new clients before yet another new client, a major gas company, expanded the NMEC reach with an additional 500 locations.

2004

New Market manages over 3,000 sites with the addition of a major food service company, effectively tripling the size of the entire business.

2005

New Market launched its first food composting project in Seattle, WA, further expanding our service offerings.

2006

Document destruction and shredding services are added to our service offerings, allowing us to offer our customers even more value for their business.

2007

Duke Energy selects New Market Equipment as its waste and recycling management company. Later that year, PTR, a key equipment partner, awards New Market Waste with the Distinguished Distributor Award!

2008

A grocery chain hires New Market during a period of explosive growth. Out site audit service, customer support, and consolidated billing assisted the client in managing the rapid growth of their business.

Grease trap maintenance and rendering are added to our portfolio of waste services, assisting many of our existing customers while expanding our reach to new clients.

New Market is awarded the PTR Distinguished Distributor Awards two years in a row!

2009

New Market crosses 900 tons of wood waste recycled annually, saving more than 15,000 trees!

Kevin LeSage leaves the banking industry to become Partner and CFO of New Market Equipment Company, bringing extensive knowledge and experience to the team.

2010

New Market sells its equipment portfolio, refocusing on its core business of sustainable managed waste and recycling services.

2012

New Market Equipment Company expands to Canada via two existing client relationships.

New Market Equipment Company rebrands to New Market Waste Solutions, LLC, highlighting a greater focus on strengthening relationships and services while continuing to specialize in waste and recycling equipment.

Veolia awards New Market Waste with the Environmental Stewardship Awards!

Private equity investment company, Zabel Companies, purchases stake in New Market Waste Solutions.

Further business developments and referrals allowed New Market Waste to expand to an additional 2,000 locations nationwide.

2019

Jeff Smith is hired as COO, combining a deep understanding of IT systems and facility services to deliver groundbreaking results for clients. New Market Waste Solutions is recognized as one of Charlotte's fastest growing Middle Market companies.
